Kyber Network’s native coin, KNC, saw its price surge 17 percent after the company announced that it will be listing the token on Coinbase Pro. While inbound transfers of KNC to Coinbase Pro won’t begin until Feb. 24, the coin saw its price rise from $0.46 to $0.54 in two hours.

Coinbase has announced that it is now a Visa principal member, the first crypto company to gain membership. The exchange can now offer more services to current Coinbase Card customers, as well as extend service to a larger number of countries.

Though Coinbase has not announced any concrete plans for the immediate future, its options have opened up, according to an announcement published by the crypto exchange company on Wednesday, Feb. 19.

Enigma, a startup developing private smart contracts, settled charges with the Securities Exchange Commission for selling its ENG tokens as unregistered securities.

Enigma raised $45 million during its 2017 ICO. The startup did not register its ENG tokens as securities, nor did the ICO qualify for an exemption, said an official press release.

The IRS is hosting a summit to discuss the tax implications of crypto early this March. Meaningful clarification on Bitcoin’s treatment, however, is not expected as the agency continues to leave tax issues around the asset unanswered.

Binance has announced an expansion of fiat onramp possibilities, with fiat partner Simplex adding support for 15 national currencies that can be used to purchase crypto on the exchange.

Simplex is a payments processor based in Tel Aviv that offers worldwide fraud-free payment processing through Visa and Mastercard.

Sia has launched Skynet, a content delivery network (CDN) and web hosting platform.

Skynet is powered by Sia’s blockchain-based, peer-to-peer file storage network. Users and developers can upload files and applications to Skynet. Those files will stay online as long as at least one peer is willing to “pin” the file.

This means that data is, more or less, permanent and immutable, announced the project on Feb. 18.
