  • As we expand to platforms like Meta, LinkedIn, and beyond, our technology will become even more indispensable for B2B businesses seeking multichannel ad automation.
The evolution of Glitch

Building a startup is a journey of constant iteration, learning, and refining. At Glitch, our mission has always been to help B2B businesses grow effortlessly—but the way we achieve that has evolved significantly.

\ The Early Vision: Simplifying Digital Advertising When we launched Glitch in October 2023, our goal was clear: Make digital advertising easier for B2B companies that lacked the time, budget, or expertise to manage complex ad platforms like Google.

\ Our early product was a streamlined ad management platform that removed friction in campaign setup and optimisation. We gained early interest, but through deep customer conversations, we realised something critical:

  • Businesses didn’t just want help running ads—they wanted results without manual effort.

  • They weren’t looking for another tool; they needed a system that could think and act for them.

  • They needed a way to scale their growth without hiring agencies or in-house specialists.

\ This insight led to a major shift in our approach.

\ The Pivot: From Marketing Tool to AI Growth Agent Rather than just simplifying ads, we realised Glitch could be something much more powerful: An AI-powered Growth Agent that actively drives revenue and customer acquisition for B2B companies.

\ This pivot meant:

\

  • Moving beyond campaign management to full AI-led decision-making.

  • Optimising not just ads, but the entire growth funnel, ensuring every pound spent delivers maximum ROI.

  • Shifting from a single-platform focus (Google) to a multi-platform strategy spanning Meta, LinkedIn, and beyond.

    \

Instead of just making ads easier, we built an AI that acts like a growth strategist. Proactively optimising budgets, targeting, and messaging to drive real business results.

Lessons learned

Building a startup is a constant learning process, and Glitch has faced its fair share of challenges. Each hurdle has provided valuable insights that have shaped how we build, iterate, and scale our AI Growth Agent.

1. Solving the Right Problem is More Important Than Just Building a Product

Challenge: In the early days, we focused on making Google Ads easier for B2B businesses, but our initial product was still too hands-on for customers who wanted a fully automated growth solution.

\ Lesson Learned:

  • A product is only as valuable as the problem it solves.
  • Businesses don’t just want simpler tools—they want outcomes with as little effort as possible.
  • We refined our approach, shifting from an ad automation tool to a true AI Growth Agent that takes on more responsibility for driving results.
2. Customer Feedback is More Valuable Than Assumptions

Challenge: We initially had strong ideas about how businesses would engage with Glitch, but real-world usage didn’t always match our expectations. Some features we thought were essential went unused, while other pain points emerged that we hadn't prioritised.

\ Lesson Learned:

  • Direct conversations with customers are far more valuable than assumptions.
  • Prioritising iterative development and testing over feature-heavy product launches ensures we stay aligned with customer needs.
  • We now validate product decisions by consistently gathering real-world feedback from early adopters before scaling features.
3. Positioning and Messaging Matter Just as Much as the Product

Challenge: Early on, we struggled with how to explain what Glitch does in a way that immediately resonated with potential customers. Terms like "ad automation" didn't fully capture the intelligence and strategic value of our AI Growth Agent.

\ Lesson Learned:

  • A product can be powerful, but if people don’t immediately understand its value, adoption will be slow.
  • Clarity in messaging helps differentiate the business from competitors and drives interest.
  • Reframing Glitch as an AI Growth Agent made it clearer that we go beyond just automating ads—we actively drive business growth.
4. Scaling Too Early Can Be Costly

Challenge: At times, we explored expanding features too quickly without fully optimising the core product. This risked spreading resources too thin and slowing down execution.

\ Lesson Learned:

  • It’s better to dominate a specific niche before expanding too broadly.
  • Ensuring a strong foundation—where the core product delivers clear, repeatable value—should always come before scaling.
  • Our phased approach now focuses on perfecting AI-driven growth for Google Ads first, before expanding into Meta, LinkedIn, and other platforms.
5. Balancing Speed and Sustainability is Key

Challenge: The pressure to move fast is always there, but making quick, short-term decisions without considering long-term impact can create unnecessary setbacks.

\ Lesson Learned:

  • There is always a trade-off between speed, cost, and sustainability—knowing when to move quickly and when to be more deliberate is crucial.
  • We prioritise strategic investments in AI, automation, and partnerships to ensure long-term efficiency, rather than just looking for quick wins.
  • Having a lean but highly capable founding team has helped us maintain momentum without unnecessary overhead.
